New Google "Preferences" Translates English language websites to Spanish automatically.

For people who speak English, Google search changed everything. Now anything you need to know from, phone numbers to directions to what car or even what pizza to buy is as close as your computer screen. You just "Google it".

But if you only spoke Spanish, you have been out of luck, because the vast majority of everything on the web is written in English.

Not any more. Google just announced a new simple setting on their site that literally translates any website into Spanish for you automatically. Now Spanish-speakers can "Google it" and find exactly what you are looking for, just like everyone else.

How to Use Google's New Preferences

1. Use Explorer, Firefox, or any other browser and go to www.google.com

2. To the right of the search box you will see a small link labeled "Preferences". Click on this link.

3. The first thing you'll see is Global Preferences, with the word "English" in the box on the right. You just change this so Spanish by clicking on the small arrow to the right of the word English and picking Spanish from the list.

4. You're done. Look up to the top right of the screen and click the button labeled "Save Preferences"

5. This takes you back to the main Google page and now everything is in Spanish!!

Now whether the search words you type in are in in English or Spanish, the search results page will bring up sites that are written in Spanish and next to listings in English there is a new button labled "translate this page". Click on this link and voila, Google translates the website to Spanish for you automatically.

Thanks Google! Being able to search in Spanish opens the door for millions more of us to search in our native language and take advantage of all the wonders of the Internet.
